Post Earthquake Rural Education Support Program (Jun 2016 – May 2019)
The Project started on June 1st, 2016, has a duration of three years, and is focused on Mandan Deupur Municipality, ward nos. 10, 11 and 12 (previously Jaisithok Mandan, Chandeni Mandan and Jyamdi Mandan VDCs) and Bhumlu Rural Municipality ward no. 9 (previously Jyamdi Mandan VDC) of Kavreplanchowk district. The project is funded by Kindermissionwerk Die Sternsinger e.V. (https://www.sternsinger.de/)
The overall objective of the project is to improve the enrollment of rural, earthquake-affected children into the formal education system.
The project has the following objective:
Reduced rates of dropout and irregular school attendance of rural children, with improved knowledge and capacity of adolescent, especially girls, on sexual and reproductive health issues improved.
The project has 4 components:
Awareness and education on adolescent sexual and reproductive health,
Self -initiated scholarship programme – see the Chicken Pass Scholarship Programme,
Psycho-social counseling and healing for earthquake affected children,
