This project was implemented to support the efforts of the local initiatives in constructing the Shurke Khola Micro Hydropower in reliable, affordable,sustainable and environmentally suitable maner in Khiraule village of Mahakulung Rural Municipality, ward no 1 of Solukhumbu District, alligning ongoing and future renewal energy development efforts, plans and policies of Government of Nepal.

The overall development objective was to  improve access of rural areas to electricity services for sustainable livelihood. 

The project was implemented in cooperation with Alternative Energy Promotion Center (AEPC) and local government with technical assistance provided by Yantrasala Energy Company.  Funding was provided by the AEPC, Nepal Helfe Bonn and Mahakulung Rural Municipality, equity contributions and in-kind contributions from the communities.
